As boarded-up storefronts became the norm in NYC due to COVID-19, Northwell Health, the largest healthcare system in the New York region, sponsored an initiative with local artists to beautify empty spaces. Their art was filled with messages of hope and a tribute to all the frontline workers and the greater NYC community. The murals sprung up across the Flatiron District, SoHo and Kips Bay neighborhoods providing color and resilience to a bleak time in the city. Monigle Agency tasked Castillo to capture the creative process and artists as they painted the city.
